Postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Alexia Cosby, and second year Ph.D. graduate student, Trevor Arino, presenting on their research at the Radiation Research Society 2022 conference held this year in Kona, HI. Dr. Cosby and Trevor are presenting on their research looking into the efficacy of 3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO) for decorporation of Am-241 using a Swiss-Webster mouse-model via instillation of radiocontamination in the lung. Their work is part of a large collaborative effort between the University of Florida, Texas A&M, Northwestern University, University of California, Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Projects of the Alliance for Radiological Exposures and Mitigation Science are funded through the Department of Defense and the National Institute of Health.
